vox clamantis in deserto

the eleventh of july

a study in the focused application of alliteration, assonance and consonance. by harlan blynn

echoes everywhere when we
ease and please
peaches
on beaches eaten in
learning lessons
leafs leave
exacting exits, exciting entrances

waves whisper simple soft sandy secrets on certain rivers
it’s weird to watch yourself wither away
younger than You; older than orion
this wittle piggie wint awol
Wegovy won’t do what we want. what i want
is to wiggle once again.

Aspens quake and ache for the one wind
Nay to the north, hallowed home of those who rest
Bare-chested beasts gnarl their twisted teeth in the east
Above the air is plain; awake to the waters breath
Below the barren graze, deep wells drained and waned
The south brings sweet and soothing summer rains
Westward the winds of time blow true
Within.
